The Naltar & Pakora Valley Trek is a unique 14-day adventure through some of the most untouched regions of northern Pakistan. Starting from Islamabad, this journey combines scenic road travel, remote mountain trekking, and authentic cultural experiences.

Travel along the legendary Karakoram Highway and enter the dramatic landscapes of Gilgit-Baltistan. From the lush forests of Naltar Valley to the high alpine pastures of Shani, the trek offers a perfect mix of natural beauty and adventure.

Cross the spectacular Naltar Pass, where breathtaking views of the Karakoram and Hindu Kush ranges unfold in every direction. Descend into the peaceful and rarely visited Ishkoman Valley, where traditional village life continues unchanged for centuries.

Itinerary

This 12-day journey into the remote and spectacular landscapes of northern Pakistan. Starting from Islamabad, the trip blends scenic drives, high-altitude trekking, and authentic cultural experiences.

Day 01 :
Arrival in Islamabad

Arrive in Islamabad and enjoy a guided city tour. Visit key attractions and explore nearby Rawalpindi, known for its historic bazaars and local culture. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02 :
Islamabad to Chilas

Drive along the scenic Kaghan Valley or the legendary Karakoram Highway. Enjoy views of the Indus River and mountain landscapes. Stop to see ancient rock carvings near Chilas. Overnight stay.

Day 03 :
Chilas to Naltar Valley

Continue along the Karakoram Highway with views of Nanga Parbat. Drive to Gilgit, then onward to Naltar Valley via Nomal village. Prepare for trekking. Overnight stay.

Day 04 :
Naltar to Lower Shani

Drive or trek to Kutu Lake (Seven Color Lake), then hike through forests and along the Naltar River to Lower Shani. Enjoy scenic mountain views. Camp overnight.

Day 05 :
Lower Shani to Upper Shani

Trek along the Shani Glacier to Upper Shani. Walk through alpine meadows and reach a high plateau with stunning views. Camp overnight.

Day 06 :
Upper Shani to Kuru Borth (Naltar Pass)

Cross the spectacular Naltar Pass with panoramic views of the Karakoram peaks. Descend towards Ishkoman Valley and camp at Kuru Borth or nearby meadows.

Day 07 :
Kuru Borth to Pakhora & Birgal

Descend through forests and waterfalls to Pakhora. Drive to Chatorkhand/Birgal for rest, local food, and cultural experience. Overnight stay.

Day 08 :
Free Day in Ishkoman Valley

Relax in Ishkoman Valley or hike to nearby waterfalls. Experience local village life and stunning mountain views. Overnight stay.

Day 09 :
Chatorkhand to Gilgit

Drive to Gilgit. Visit Kargah Buddha, explore Gilgit Bazaar, and walk across the historic Gilgit Suspension Bridge. Overnight stay.

Day 10 :
Fly to Islamabad / Drive to Naran

Fly to Islamabad. If flights are canceled, drive to Naran Valley for overnight stay.

Day 11 :
Islamabad / Return from Naran

Free day in Islamabad for rest, shopping, or sightseeing. If traveling by road, continue drive from Naran to Islamabad.

Day 12 :
Departure

Fly back home with unforgettable memories of your adventure in northern Pakistan.
