Detailed Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Qurqolti Village: Makuli Meadows (3-4 hours)
The adventure begins at Qurqolti Village in Yasin Valley. A gentle 3–4 hour walk takes you along rivers, sparkling streams, and cascading waterfalls through juniper-filled landscapes. The path is clear and easy, leading to Makuli Meadows — a vast, lush green plain at the foot of snow-covered peaks rising 5,000–6,000m. This serene campsite is the perfect introduction to the trek.
Day 2: Explore Makuli Meadows: Hike to Makuli Lake & Waterfall
Spend the day exploring Makuli Meadows at your own pace. A short 3-hour hike takes you to the hidden Makuli Lake, a pristine body of water reflecting the surrounding peaks like a mirror to the sky. Enjoy the peaceful environment, ideal for meditation or yoga, and visit a nearby waterfall tucked away in the meadows. This is a day for slow exploration, soaking in the natural beauty and tranquility of the Hindukush.
Day 3: Makuli Meadows: Rainbow Hills Camp (3-4 hours)

On Day 3, ascend gradually to one of the most spectacular spots in Yasin Valley. This 3–4 hour walk takes you across lush meadows where you’ll encounter yaks, horses, sheep, and cows belonging to the friendly locals living in their summer pastures. The trek leads to a scenic campsite near Rainbow Hills at around 4,000m, with crystal-clear spring water and stunning mountain vistas. From the hills we have great view of Darmandir Pass and surroundings.
In the afternoon, take a short hike to the Rainbow Hills, offering panoramic views of the snow-capped Hindukush, including Thui-1 and Thui-2 peaks (6,666m). You’ll also spot Darmandir Pass (4,600m) and the distant Mayur Pass (4,400m), the next big highlight of your trek. These are some of the less travelers spots in the Northern Pakistan best for those who don’t like crowded with travelers.
